Another Milestone

We hit another milestone today: 2000 miles. We also got to our first city -- Bismarck, ND -- since leaving Spokane 3 weeks ago. Bismarck is the capital of North Dakota and has a population of 60,000, considerably more than the 600-3000 in the towns we've been in recently. It was a pleasant change to eat at an upscale restaurant after 3 weeks in which our choice almost every night included nothing but burgers, steaks, and fried whatever.

2000 miles since leaving Boston on April 20

One of multiple crossings of the Missouri River on our trip so far. We've been alongside the Missouri frequently, beginning near its origin just east of the Continental Divide.
The only lunch spot 15 miles from Bismarck: atop an electrical relay box

A nice change from the roadside motels in which we've been staying recently

A nice change from the mediocre restaurants at which we've been eating recently
